While officers were taking Hooper into custody, a female identifying herself as Hooper’s wife ran up from behind and began interfering with officers. The female was identified as 28 year old Marissa Lawson. Lawson was arrested for interfering with the investigation.
The driver, 29 year old Kenneth Hooper, was found to be on active Post Release Community Supervision and had a warrant for sales of controlled substances. During a search of the vehicle, officers located over 100 grams of methamphetamine and indicators of sales activity.
Hooper was arrested on the warrant and for fresh charges of evading and possession of methamphetamine for sales. Hooper and Lawson were transported and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.
