Last night at approximately 8:10 PM Humboldt Bay Fire responded to a reported structure fire in the 5200 block of Walnut Drive in the Cutten/Ridgewood area.
The first arriving unit on scene reported a shed on fire with extension to the fence. The fire was controlled within 10 minutes and units remained on scene for approximately 1½ hours to complete overhaul and investigation.
7 units responded with 16 total personnel.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but appears to be accidental.
Walnut Drive was closed or approximately 30 minutes due to fire hose crossing the street.
Humboldt Bay Fire would like to remind the public that it is against the law to drive over fire hose. Driving over a fire hose could damage or break the hose putting firefighters at risk and significantly impede fire and rescue efforts.
