Boards and Commissions

During Covid-19, Board, Commission, and Committee meetings are held via Zoom.

The public may participate in public meetings in the following manner:

  1. You can view meetings live on the City of Eureka’s website at www.ci.eureka.ca.gov and Planning Commission meetings are broadcast live on Cable Channel 10. To view from the website, select Agendas, Meeting and Videos on the home page.
  2. If you wish to speak and be heard during a hearing or oral communications, you may submit your name, phone number and name of the item you would like to comment on by e-mail to planning@ci.eureka.ca.gov or leave a message at 707.441.4160 before the meeting.  See the public hearing notice and/or agenda to find deadlines for submitting requests to speak during the meeting. A Development Services staff member will call you during the meeting, and you will have three-minutes to provide your comments.
  3. If you don’t want to participate during the meeting but want to submit comment on a project or for oral communications, you may submit your comment via email to planning@ci.eureka.ca.gov or you may leave a message at 707-441-4160 prior to the meeting.  See the public hearing notice and/or agenda to find deadlines for submitting comments prior to the meeting. Any comments received prior to the meeting comment deadline will be part of the public record for consideration but may not be read aloud during the meeting.

To contact a Board, Commission, or Committee member you may either participate during the oral communication portion of a meeting, or send written comments to Development Services - Planning at planning@ci.eureka.ca.gov

Accessibility Notice: When the Council Chamber is open to the public, it is the location for each of the Commission and Committee meetings below.  The Chamber is located on the second floor of City Hall and is wheelchair accessible. Accommodations and access to City meetings for people with special needs must be requested of the City Clerk at 441-4175 in advance of the meeting.

Historic Preservation Commission Various project and permit approvals related to any exterior changes to any of the 1,000+            structures on the Local Register of Historic Places; fulfills requirements regarding various State laws; develops and promotes Historic Preservation related events; advises City Council regarding Historic Preservation. 707.441.4160
Housing Advisory Board Serves as City's official Home Loan Approval Committee; drafts and implements the "Eureka Housing Strategic Plan"; advises City Council regarding all things related to Housing, particularly affordable housing. 707.441.4209
