Eureka Fire Department Open House

Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

You are cordially invited to attend the Eureka Fire Department’s Open house on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.  Enjoy refreshments and free raffles for great prizes for all ages. Come meet your firefighters and fire staff, go on a tour to see the headquarters station house, the fire apparatus and equipment your fire department uses everyday. See demonstrations of emergency equipment and procedures, meet our area partners in emergency preparedness and see their informational booths, and much, much more.

This is your day to come see your fire department and learn all about fire safety and disaster preparedness greet your neighbors and have some fun.  See you there!

EFD Badge Pinning Ceremony

On July 18, 2008, the Eureka Fire Department held a badge pinning ceremony to acknowledge four individuals.  For the first time in the history of the department, Eureka Fire Department has hired lateral Fire Engineers.  Patrick Beyer and Jon Chambers joined our own newly promoted Rick Lahargoue into the rank of Fire Engineer.  We also welcomed back Chris Emmons who has returned to EFD after a nearly one year absence working for Cal Fire.

Fireworks Prohibited In Old Town And On Woodley Island

Eureka Fire Department would like to remind everyone that personal fireworks are prohibited on Woodley Island and in the Old Town area of the City of Eureka by the Eureka Municipal Code, Section 92.08. The code states:

No person shall store, sell, use, discharge, ignite, or set off any fireworks on Woodley Island and in the Old Town Area of the City of Eureka. For purposes of this ordinance, the Old Town area is defined as the area North of Fourth Street to the Bay, West of M Street and East of Commercial Street, inclusive.
