Frequently Asked Questions
- What services do you provide at the Eureka Public Marina?
The Eureka Public Marina is located at 500 West Waterfront Drive. The Marina includes 140 boat moorage slips that accommodate vessels from 20-70ft in length. Amenities include a two lane launch ramp, fish cleaning station, parking area, public restroom, tenant shower building with coin operated laundry machines, and waste oil disposal facility. Water and electricity is provided to each slip. The Marina has five loaner bicycles for use by the tenants. The marina office is located at the west end of the complex in the Wharfinger Building at #1 Marina Way.
The Marina is located with walking distance to the Old Town and Down Town areas including restaurants, stores, and US Post Office. Marina tenants can receive their mail and packages directly at the Marina Office.
- Do you have a waiting list?
Some of our docks do require that you be put on a waiting list, but most of the time we can place your vessel in any available space until your desired location is available.
- What security is provided to ensure the safety of the vessels while berthed in the Marina?
There are four security cameras positioned in strategic locations that are very helpful in preventing theft or vandalism before it occurs.
There are several vessel owners who live-aboard, as well as a marina employee that are constantly on neighborhood watch.
- Do I need boat insurance to berth my boat at the Marina?
Although vessel insurance is not mandatory at this time we do think it is very prudent and money well spent. You as the vessel owner are financially responsible for any and all accidents, fires, injuries or oil spills that involve your vessel. Some liability expenses have cost the owners more than what their vessel was worth.
- Is there a launch ramp near by?
Yes. We have a two sided launch ramp right at the marina which is open to the public free of charge 24 hours a day.
- Do you monitor the VHF radio?
Yes. We monitor the radio during the peak of boating season on channel 64. This is normally June through October. You can also reach the Marina office at 1-707-268-1973 to get directions or instructions from 8 am to 4pm.
- Is there transportation near by?
Yes. There are taxi, bus, and car rental services close to the marina which provide excellent service for our boaters.
Whether you are a permanent tenant, or just cruising through, it’s the knowledgeable, and helpful marina staff that will make your stay at the Eureka Public Marina a very pleasurable one!
