Communications Manager- Michelle Reyna-Sanchez
My name is Michelle, thank you for taking the time to get to know a little bit about me and the Communications Center. I have been with Eureka Police Department and Humboldt Bay Fire Communication Center since March of 2002. My passion for service and my dedication to the Communication Dispatchers, First Responders, and Community Members are my top priority.
“Always Here. Always Ready”
That is the motto of the Eureka Police and Humboldt Bay Fire’s Communications Center.
We are operational 24hrs a day, 7 days a week including holidays.
It’s important to know Communications Dispatchers serve a vital role in public safety. They are many times the first contact you will have when contacting emergency services, and they are the “first” first responder. Communication Dispatchers are the vital link between the members of the Eureka Police Department and the community they serve.
Our Communications Center dispatches for Police, Fire and Medical emergencies within the City limits of Eureka and surrounding area.
Our Communication Dispatchers are EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatch) certified through the IAED (International Academies of Emergency Dispatch). Our dispatchers follow medical protocols that are authorized by North Coast EMS. With training and certification, and following authorized protocols, our dispatchers are able to provide lifesaving instructions over the phone while dispatching medical services to the scene of the emergency. EMD is recognized as an essential component of effective EMS (Emergency Medical Service) system as every second counts when trying to save a life.
Our motto “Always here. Always ready” is a daily reminder to us, as well as our assurance to you that we will always be here for you and always ready to assist you.
