How can I get information on drinking water quality?
The water delivered by the City consistently meets or exceeds all Federal and State drinking water quality standards. Extensive laboratory tests are conducted year round by the City of Eureka and the Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District. The results are reported to the State Department of Health Services on a regular basis. Each purveyor prepares an Annual Consumer Confidence Report which is mailed to all customers each spring. We have a wastewater stoppage and need someone to clear the problem.
If the wastewater stoppage is within your wastewater lateral, it is the homeowner’s responsibility to have a plumber clear the stoppage. If the stoppage is within the publicly maintained wastewater main, it is the City’s responsibility to clear the stoppage. If you feel that the problem is within the City’s main line, please call the Public Works Department at (707) 441-4203. A member of the wastewater staff will be dispatched to evaluate the situation. Are tours of the wastewater treatment plant facility available?
Yes, tours are scheduled and conducted by our operations staff. Please call (707) 441-4361 to schedule a tour. The following information is needed before scheduling a tour: Name of Organization (i.e., scouts, school class, etc.); contact person’s name and phone number; date and time preference; and average age and number in group.
