Regional Disaster/Hazard Mitigation Plan

Please help your community's disaster planning efforts and FEMA funding eligibility by completing a two page questionnaire and returning it to the Humboldt County Planning Department or the City of Eureka no later than January 15, 2007.

This two page questionnaire was put together by Humboldt County planning staff as part of a Regional Disaster/Hazard Mitigation Plan process in which the City of Eureka is participating. The process is being directed locally by the County, with participation from city agencies, and it is funded and sponsored by State OES and FEMA. The resulting Disaster/Hazard Mitigation Plan will be a valuable tool in protecting our citizens and critical facilities and infrastructure from disaster (earthquake, flood, fire, etc.). Once the Plan document is approved by FEMA (estimated 2007), the City of Eureka will become eligible for funding opportunities which can help us pay for numerous implementing programs or projects.

Please feel free to forward this questionnaire to any Humboldt County resident on your mailing list. The questionnaire should be completed by January 15, 2007.

When complete, return it to either of the following addresses:
