The City of Eureka continues to monitor effects of COVID-19 pandemic on our City services and follow Federal and State recommendations. It has been determined that making a few adjustments to our operations can allow the City to continue to serve the public; but in a manner consistent with recommended practices. The following practices will start March 17, 2020 at 8 am and are being implemented to make every effort to protect everyone’s health:

  • Water/Sewer Billing

o   The Finance Department will continue to take water/sewer payments during this time. The most convenient method for payments will be through the City’s website and by phone and Website address: https://www.municipalonlinepayments.com/eurekaca/utilities or by phone at 707-441-4267 (Credit & Debit cards accepted)

o   If you need to make a cash transaction, you have two options:

  • Drop box payments (a receipt can be mailed by request).
  • In person payments by appointment only. To make an appointment, please call 707-601-5853

o   For the immediate time being, staff will be unable to schedule same day disconnect of service. Please plan to give at least 24-48 hours of prior notice.

  • Building/Planning/Encroachment Permits – Appointments will be required to meet with staff regarding permitting. Please call 707-441-4144 and you will be transferred to the appropriate person.
  • Council Meeting - The regular Council meeting scheduled for 6:00 PM, March 17, 2020 will take place with the following changes, additional opportunities to participate and reminders:

o   E-Mailed Public Comment – Public comments can be e-mailed to Cityclerk@ci.eureka.ca.gov. All comments received by the City Clerk by 5:00 PM will be printed and provided to the City Council at the meeting.

o   Social Distancing at the Meeting – We strongly encourage the public to watch the City Council meeting remotely on line at ci.eureka.ca.gov or on Cable Channel 10. Those individuals who decide to attend the Council meeting in person will be asked to sit at least 6 feet way from other attendees. Anyone who feels sick are asked to stay home.

Eureka Police Department’s Business Office will remain fully operational for all services at this time. We do ask citizens to phone for assistance when able instead of coming to the office in person to reduce potential community and responder exposure. Requests for copies of police reports, parking ticket inquiries and other requests for information can be obtained by phoning 707-441-4060.

Parking tickets can be paid online at www.paymycite.com/eureka. Traffic collision reports can be obtained online at www.crashdocs.org.

For the time being, officers will be handling non-emergency, documentation report calls by phone instead of in person. If personal contact is needed, please provide the call taker pertinent health information to assist officers in responding with appropriate protective gear.

All of these actions are done with the goal of keeping our community healthy and safe. Thank you for partnering with us to keep everyone safe.
