Our mission is to provide for and enhance the quality of life and spirit of the community with a wide variety of recreational programs and services.  The department consists of the Parks Division, Harbor & Public Marina, Facility Maintenance, Sequoia Park Zoo, Environmental Programs, Waterfront Trails and Recreation Division.

--> NEW Job Opportunity!  Preschool Teacher (Temp/Part Time) at Little Saplings Preschool

  • Plan & lead activities for youth ages 2.5 - 5 years
  • Provide & oversee a safe, healthy play environment which enables youth to participate in positive activities
  • Communicate with parents about daily experiences with children.
  • Must be available Monday - Friday between 9am - 5pm, shifts vary depending on need
  • $15.37/hour - $17.80/hour - DOE
  • Must get fingerprinted, TB test, prove TDap, MMR & will get Child & Infant First Aid/CPR certified

--> NEW Job Opportunity! Homeless Services Program Coordinator (Temp/Part Time)

  • Provides lead direction to Homeless Outreach Workers and the UPLIFT Job Skills Training Program Crew Leaders.
  • Advocates for those experiencing homelessness, addiction and mental illness.
  • Establishes and maintains positive, productive working relationships with partnering agencies, social service providers and various community resources. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with homeless members of our community, built upon trust, which motivates them to accept services in order to improve their quality of life.
  • Works effectively with people of varying racial, ethnic, cultural, educational and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Maintains a non-judgmental attitude and a display of unconditional positive regard, is caring and compassionate.
  • $17.41/hr. - $21.18/hr.
