Please join the City Council and Planning Commission for a special joint meeting on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 5:00 PM in the Council Chamber and via Zoom to hear a staff presentation for an update to the 2019-27 Housing Element. Based on lot constraints and subsequent community concerns about some of the publicly-owned locations where development of affordable housing was proposed, the City embarked on a process to locate appropriate lots which could be substituted for the lots lost due to constraints, as well as some or all of the lots which were located along the Highway 101 Corridor. The City has now identified the lots proposed to be added and deleted, and has drafted an update to the Housing Element. Changes to the methods used to accommodate the City’s Regional Housing Needs Allocation will also be discussed.
